❌IZRAEL FOR EUROVISION 2026❌
We, the undersigned, call on the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to reconsider Israel’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
Eurovision is a cultural event meant to unite nations through music and to promote peace, respect, and humanity. At present, however, Israel is conducting military operations that have resulted in thousands of civilian casualties. This raises serious concerns about whether its participation aligns with the values Eurovision claims to represent.
It is also important to note that Israel is not a member of the European Union. Its participation in Eurovision is based solely on its partnership with the EBU—much like a few other non-European countries. Given the severe humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict and widespread international criticism over human rights violations, we believe it is inappropriate for Israel to be given a platform that allows it to present itself in a positive cultural light on the international stage.
This is not a call to boycott the Israeli people, their music, or their culture. It is a call to recognize that cultural representation cannot be separated from state accountability.
We therefore urge the EBU to:
- Temporarily suspend Israel from Eurovision until hostilities have ceased and the humanitarian situation improves;
- Establish clear guidelines that tie participation in Eurovision to a demonstrated respect for human rights and international law.
- Other countries have been excluded from Eurovision in the past under similar circumstances. If the contest is to maintain its credibility, the same standards must apply to all.
